Why Chicken is So Perfect For Mexican Recipes

Chicken is a versatile ingredient and its soft flavor goes just as well with the lightest and herbiest sauce as with the boldest, fullest flavored ingredients. Mexican cuisine is one of the most varied in the world, featuring all kinds of meat and fish, fresh vegetables, herbs, spices and more, so it goes without saying that chicken and Mexican recipes are perfect culinary partners.

Chicken

Popular Mexican ingredients include corn, tomatoes, mushrooms, chilies, avocado, cheese and more and all of these are great with chicken. From easy chicken enchiladas to Mexican chicken casserole and chicken and corn soup, there are plenty of authentic Mexican dishes you can create with boneless chicken.

The Easiest Mexican Chicken Dishes
If you have not cooked Mexican food before you can start with something simple, like a Mexican style layered salad. Simply choose seven ingredients and layer them on top of one another in a glass serving bowl.
Possible layers can include cheese, avocado or guacamole, lettuce, tomato, ground beef, corn, grated carrot, salsa and, of course, a layer of cooked, chopped boneless chicken. Serve this as a side dish, an appetizer or as the centerpiece at a buffet or get-together. It will taste as good as it looks.

You can also use boneless chicken to make an easy Mexican casserole. Rub some garlic and cumin into chopped chicken pieces and season them with salt and pepper. Stir fry them and then bake the chicken with a jar of salsa and a handful of grated cheese for a wonderful, gooey casserole that you can scoop up with tortilla chips.

Mexican Style Baked Chicken Recipe

You can use either mild salsa or spicy salsa, depending how spicy you want the finished dish to be. If you are not a fan of very hot foods, you can use a mild salsa and cut down on the chili powder too.

Simple Oven Fried Chicken Recipes

Oven fried chicken recipes are very easy to make. I got even lazier and used some shake and bake that I found in the pantry, instead of the crackers. This was fast, easy, and best of all, it tasted great. Also, it's suitable for busy moms.

Chicken Recipes
Oven fried chicken recipe #1
Ingredients:
4 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 stick margarine
1 sleeve saltine crackers - crushed
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 375. Melt margarine on 11x14 baking sheet in oven while preheating.
  2. When margarine is melted remove sheet from oven and coat each chicken breast in margarine, then in crushed saltines.
  3. Place back on baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes turning halfway through.
Oven fried chicken recipe #2Ingredients:
2 large eggs, beaten lightly
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon dried thyme
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 package (5 1/4 ounces) plain Melba toast, pulsed to sand and pebble texture
4 drumsticks and 4 thighs, skin removed
Spray bottle filled with vegetable oil or vegetable oil cooking spray
Instructions:
  1. Adjust rack to upper-middle position and heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Mix eggs, mustard, thyme, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish. Put Melba toast crumbs in another shallow dish. Set a large wire rack over an 18 by 12-inch foil-lined jellyroll pan.
  3. Using 1 hand for dry ingredients and the other for wet, lay chicken pieces, 4 at a time, in egg mixture, roll to coat. Then lay 1 piece at a time in Melba crumbs. Press a mix of crumbs into top of chicken.
  4. Turn piece over and repeat, pressing crumbs into other side. Gently shake off excess. Set chicken on rack.
  5. Spray top portion of chicken pieces evenly with oil.
  6. Bake until chicken is nutty brown and juices run clear, 30 minutes for drumsticks and 35 minutes for thighs.
Oven fried chicken recipe #3Ingredients(For 6 servings):
2 chickens (3 pounds each), cut in eight serving pieces
1 quart buttermilk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
Vegetable oil or vegetable shortening
Instructions:
  1. Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  3. Combine the flour, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Take the chicken out of the buttermilk and coat each piece thoroughly with the flour mixture. Pour the oil into a large heavy-bottomed stockpot to a depth of 1 inch and heat to 360 degrees on a thermometer.
  4. Working in batches, carefully place several pieces of chicken in the oil and fry for about 3 minutes on each side until the coating is a light golden brown (it will continue to brown in the oven). Don't crowd the pieces. Remove the chicken from the oil and place each piece on a metal baking rack set on a sheet pan. Allow the oil to return to 360 degrees F. before frying the next batch. When all the chicken is fried, bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until the chicken is no longer pink inside. Serve hot.
Most people use a frying pan, but I use a stockpot so the grease doesn't get all over the stove (and me!).
I use a candy thermometer to check the oil temperature.

A

Cardio - Lose Weight Through 3 Cardio Exercises

Many body trainers are stating more and more often that it is good to do cardio. There are good reasons for that because it can help you lose weight, have stronger heart and lungs, reduce stress and have many other benefits. You need to know the most common used exercises for a good cardio. They are running, swimming and biking. I am going to talk about each and every one of these activities in this article.

cardio

The most common cardio exercise is running. For a more efficient result you need to include in your workout uphill running. You will see how hard is to run at a small incline and how fast you will get tired. By doing this type of running you will feel the burning in you muscle leg, your heart rate will increase and you will start to sweat profusely. All this will lead to an increased number of calories that are burned. Cardio means pushing the limits so it is better if you do a 20 min hard routine instead of a 60 min jogging. The next exercise is even better.

One of the best cardio exercises for everyone is swimming. By swimming you will burn more calories than in any other exercise because your entire body is working. Swimming is preferred by elder people because in the water your body has the tendency to lower his tension. A good thing about swimming is that you can choose from different styles. Each one of the swimming styles has his number of calories that are burned if you perform it. If you don't know to swim you can take lessons or do the next cardio exercise.

For most people biking has two purposes. You can move from a place to another and you also do a great cardio exercise. But remember if you just take a nice riding in the park that is not cardio. You need to push your body. A great cardio is to ride your bike uphill. A great thing is that you can do this type of cardio all the year in a gym or at your home because I don't think you are going to ride your bike in the winter when it is snowing. For a good cardio you need to take into consideration each of these exercises.

Cardio to Burn Fat - Secrets of the Fast Fat Burning Workout

Using a cardio to lose weight can be a very difficult thing to do. The common thought with most people is that doing cardio to lose fat is the quickest way to burn fat there is. Unfortunately, using cardio to burn fat can actually slow your results if you don't do it right!

cardio

The most common method of using cardio to lose inches is called "steady state" training. This involves going at the same speed for long periods of time. This type of cardio workout is the most common thing that I see at most health clubs that I have been through.

A lot of the people who use the steady state cardio training method rarely lose any fat unless they are on a very restricted diet. The reason that steady state training is not the method all comes to back your metabolism.

As you probably already know, your metabolism is how your body burns calories. The higher your metabolism, the more fat you will burn. The best ways to increase metabolism through exercise are to add muscle mass or use high intensity intervals while doing cardio. Steady state cardio might burn a few calories while you do it, but has very little effect on your metabolism!

Not only that, but your body adapts very quickly to steady state cardio training, which can make it difficult to burn fat using this method. The first time you get on a treadmill, elliptical, exercise bike, etc., it feels very exerting by just doing a little work. But as you progress your body adapts more and more. It gets to the point that your body is so adapted to the same steady state workout that you have go to longer and harder to keep challenging it!

The Cardio Solution
As you can see, doing steady state cardio to burn fat is not the best option. If you want to burn fat with cardio, a great alternative to steady state is called Interval Training. Interval training is different than steady state cardio because it will play a huge role in burn calories and most importantly, increasing your metabolism.

Interval training is a great way to make progress because it involves alternating back and forth between high and low intensities.

Here is how to burn fat with an interval training cardio workout...
Use a stationary or recumbent bike if you are a beginner.
  1. Start out by warming up for 5 minutes.
  2. Then, increase the pace slightly and the resistance for the next 2 minutes.
  3. Then, go very fast for 30 secs - 1 minute - almost as hard as you can.
  4. Repeat the 2 minutes slow - 1 minute fast interval 3-6 times.
  5. End by cooling down for 5 minutes.
If you try doing this type of cardio workout to burn fat, you will see how much better it is than steady state cardio. By using interval training as a cardio method to burn fat, you will see how the changes in intensity every minute or two really makes the whole workout go much faster. Like I mentioned before, the best part about using interval training as a cardio workout to burn fat is that it will rev up your metabolism for optimal fat loss!

Chicken and Beans For Dinner - Slow Cooked!

It is important for us to eat dinner together as a family as many times a week as we will. We turn the TV off, perhaps select some music off one of our iPods and all sit down to enjoy dinner together. Now, as a busy family with 2 working fogeys and a kid with after-school activities, that is often simpler announced than done. Enter the crock-pot, which I suspect is one of the finest tools for a busy family. It takes minimal time in the morning to prep all of the ingredients and put them in the crock-pot, and when you return home at night, dinner is ready -- or just about prepared -- to eat. Here's one of my fave recipes, one that will transpose into many meals.

Chicken
Crock-pot chicken and beans four chicken thighs one jar medium or hot salsa one can pinto or kidney beans, drained 1 can black beans, drained one can corn ( use the no salt added kind ) one green or red bell pepper, sliced one packet taco seasoning Put the chicken in the base of the crock pot, then dust the taco seasoning on the top. Layer the beans, the corn ( undrained ), the bell pepper and then the salsa on top.

Put the lid on your crock-pot and turn it on low, for 6-8 hours. When you get home at the end of a busy day, your dinner is sort of prepared. Take 2 forks and shred the chicken, then mix the entire thing together. The first night I make this, we eat it on flour tortillas as tacos, with the addition of cut olives, cheddar cheese and avocado.

But as it makes way more than our family can eat, I portion up the remains into 3 boxes. 2 go in the fridge, and one is utilized later on in the week for taco salads.

To make a good home made taco salad, just get yourself some of the burrito-sized flour tortillas. You should buy taco shell molds at any store with a cooking section, and just spray the mould down with cooking spray, press the tortilla in it, and bake in the cooker at 375 degrees till crispy. Fill with your fave salad toppings, beginning with, naturally, the leftover chicken and beans that you have heated up in the microwave. You may use the leftover chicken and beans in a selection of alternative routes. By adding some low-sodium chicken broth to the mix, you can make a fast and filling soup. If you've a little more time, you can heat some corn tortillas in the microwave, roll the chicken and bean mix up in them, put them in a baking dish, cover with cheese and your favourite enchilada sauce, and you have got chicken and bean enchiladas.

For a brilliant fast dinner, warm the chicken and beans up and serve over rice. And for something a little different, make your own nachos by loading up tortilla chips with the chicken and beans, then cheddar cheese. Pop that in the microwave till the cheese liquefies, then add sour cream, salsa, cut olives and jalapeos. From that one day of using the crock pot, while you are busy doing other stuff, it's possible to make at least 5 different meals. That gives you more time to spend round the table, catching up with your folks.

Fantastic 3 Generation Beef Stew Recipe

There really is nothing better then a good beef stew. Throughout the summer the barbeque is the king of dinner. As the weather cool the crock pot comes out and the beef stew start too cook.
This is really a basic stew however it can be modified to suit your taste. This will get you started in the right direction and you can take it from there.

beef

Start by getting the crock pot set up and heated. Fill the pot with hot tap water and start to heat it up. I don't like to heat up the crock pot without liquid in it. I don't want to crack it.

Then in a large saucepan add some oil to the pot and let it heat up add the beef and start to brown it. The goal is to seer the meat and lock in the juice. Keep turning the cubes so all the sides get browned. Keep an eye on the heat, you don't want to burn the beef to the pan. I generally use about 6 on my stove. The meat should cook about half way then remove it from the pot.

Add a little oil if needed and start adding your cut carrots, potatoes and onion. Get everything moving around so everything gets covered in the oil. You also want to scrape off the bits left on the pan from seering the meat. There is a ton of flavor left in the "pan drippings".

Allow these veggies to start to cook down. You don't want the saucepan to get too hot or to have the veggies start to dry out and stick. You can add a half a cup of soup stock to cool things down. Add the meat once the veggies have heated and started to cook through. Add about a half teaspoon of salt now also.

Time to add a liquid to this. It is ideal to use beef or vegatable stock for this but hot water will work also. Add enough liquid to cover all the veggies and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and cover with a lid. Let simmer for about 15 minutes.

By this time the crock pot is ready. Pour out the water and add the soup, be real careful. I have been spashed and it hurts so I have started to use a laddle until almost all of it is in the crockpot.

I let the stew cook for an hour or so on high and then I taste it and start to season. It will need some salt, pepper and garlic powder. I also add some beef bouilon cubes and some onion soup mix as well. At this point you can also add some frozen corn and green beens or whatever else you want.

Let cook in the crock pot for about 5 hours on low and 2.5 or on high. Just before you serve it will need to be thickened. I use about 3 table spoons of flour mixed in 3/4 of a cup of milk. Pour in and stir. Let cook for another 20 minutes or until thickened.

An Ultra Easy Chili Recipe

This ultra easy beef chili recipe is so scrumptious that even the pickiest of souls is sure to love it! And for the health freaks out there, this chili recipe even comes with extra vegetables. The meat can also be substituted with either chicken, or even turkey, instead of beef. It is the ideal chili recipe for those cold nights, and one that everyone in the family is sure to love.

Chili Recipe
The Ingredients:
o Five good sized carrots, diced into cubes or smaller
o Four cloves of minced garlic
o Three finely chopped onions
o One can of tomato paste, small
o One can of diced tomatoes, large
o One kilogram or two pounds of ground beef, preferably lean. As mentioned above, you can also substitute chicken or turkey.
o Four stalks of chopped celery
o Half a cup of beef broth. However, if you're using a substitute for your meat, remember to compensate accordingly.
o A quarter cup of mild paprika
o A half cup of ketchup to add a little sweetness
o One 19 oz red kidney beans can
o A third of a cup of chili powder
o One teaspoon of cayenne pepper (but you can always increase this if you prefer it spicier)
o Some grated cheddar cheese on top (but this is totally up to you)

Step Number One: Place the onions and ground beef into a pan with a little oil - not too much, though, because the beef contains its own fat. However, you can add more if you're substituting beef with something else. Lightly pre-cook the beef over a medium flame and strain away any of the excess fat and oil.

Step Number Two: Add in your vegetables, namely the garlic, celery, tomatoes and carrots and then slowly start to mix in your beef broth. Cook over the medium flame for five to ten minutes while keeping an eye on your vegetables. Once they are soft, add your remaining ingredients (but leave the kidney beans for now).

Step Number Three: Cook over a low flame for about an hour. If you have access to a slow cooker, this is the perfect chili recipe to follow and cook in it for a couple of hours. The ingredients put in will come out so tender, they will melt in your mouth!

Step Number Four: Finally, mix in your kidney beans around ten minutes before you serve this dish over pasta, with rice, on its own, or even some lightly toasted French bread.

This is the perfect chili recipe for those cold winter nights, for family dinners and gatherings, and even works as leftovers for lunch the next day. You could also get your kids involved and make it a family event, if you'd like.

How To Make Crockpot White Chicken Chili

If you are looking for something delicious for dinner, then you might consider Crockpot white chicken chili. This is a fairly easy meal to make for your family and they might just find that they love eating it with you. It is also one of those items that will take almost no time to do, just put the ingredients into the slow cooker and walk away.

Chicken Chili

Begin the process by pulling out a three quart Crockpot and placing about 2 pounds of bones chicken breasts into it. Add in four cups of chicken broth to give it a better flavor. When this is done, simply chop up about a cup of onions and add them into the mixture. Mix together the items well.

While this is going, you will want to add in about three cloves of garlic that has been minced. Then add in a teaspoon of cumin seeds followed by three teaspoons ground cumin, 1 teaspoon ground coriander and a teaspoon of white pepper. If you do not have white pepper, you can substitute in black pepper.

Now, you have the chance to walk away. Allow your mixture to cook on high for six hours as you let the chicken cook. Be sure not to end this process before you have fully cooked your chicken. When it is done, you will remove it and then continue the Crockpot white chicken chili recipe.

You will now need to shred the chicken pretty fine. Then add it back into your mixture. Now add in a can of White Beans and White corn. This will add some depth to the flavor that you are having with your Crockpot white chicken chili. The cans should be averaged size. The ideal size here will be about 15 ounces.

Now you will want to add in three cans of chopped green chilies. Now, add in four tablespoons of lime juice and then take a moment to stir the mixture well. When you have done these, allow it to cook for another hour to allow the flavors to blend.

During this time, you can add in any additional spices you might think will add to the flavor. Closer to the end, you might even consider adding in some queso to add to the flavor of the chili as well. That is of course optional, but an idea that some people might enjoy.

To serve this delicious Crockpot white chicken chili, you should top it with cilantro, sour cream and any other items you think might add to the overall flavor of the dish you are serving. Then sit back and enjoy the delicious mixture that you have created, one that your entire family is certain to love.

Boneless Chicken Thigh Recipes

Chicken thighs are often overlooked in recipes because of the popularity of boneless chicken breasts, which are more in demand. However, chicken thighs are juicier and much more flavorful. They are also very economical and if you are on a tight budget, there are lots of chicken thigh recipes you can make, whether you are looking for something international like easy chicken enchiladas or something for the summer like grilled chicken recipes.

Recipes

You can use boneless chicken thighs in casseroles and stews and pretty much any dish where you would normally use chicken breast. You might like to use some chicken breast and some chicken thigh, for a contrast in flavors and textures.

How to De-Bone a Chicken Thigh
Bone-in chicken is cheaper than ones are which have been de-boned for you, so it is well worth learning how to take the bones out of your own. Taking the bone out of a chicken thigh is simple and it also means the chicken will have a shorter cooking time. If you are cutting up a whole chicken, you will need a sharp knife to slice through the joint where the drumstick meets the thigh. You will find the cartilage very soft so it is easy to cut.

Bone the drumstick using the same method as you used for the thigh. Cut along the top of the bone and slice deeply until the knife is touching the bone. You will be able to see the white bone in the cut you have made. Pull the bone upwards and away from the chicken thigh.

Cut into the chicken some more, so that you can remove the bone altogether. You will probably have to slice some more of the meat off the bone so you can get it out. Keep slicing away bits of sinew, tendons and skin until you have a boneless thigh.

Recipe for Crockpot Chicken Thighs in an Herby Orange Sauce
This is such a simple recipe and the fact that you can use a slow cooker means that you can leave this recipe to cook by itself all day while you are out. Serve this tangy citrus chicken dish with noodles or rice and perhaps some broccoli or beans on the side. This recipe serves four people.
You will need:
  • 2 lbs skinless, boneless chicken thighs, in 1 inch pieces
  • Juice from 1 orange
  • Zest from 2 oranges
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed dried thyme leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon crumbled dried rosemary
  • 4 slices crumbled, cooked lean bacon
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 3 peeled, diced carrots
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 14 1/2 oz can diced peeled tomatoes
  • 6 oz can tomato paste
How to make it:
Remove any visible fat from the chicken, then combine it with the orange juice and half the zest, tomatoes and their liquid, oregano, thyme, pepper, garlic, rosemary, onion, carrot, basil and tomato paste in a three and a half quart crockpot. Cover and cook on "low" for about six hours or until the chicken thighs are cooked through. Stir in the rest of the orange zest, the lemon juice, and sugar. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the finished dish.

Tinga - A Versatile Mexican Chicken Recipe

Tinga is a delicious combination of chicken, garlic, tomatoes, chilies, onions and more. It is not one of the most famous Mexican food recipes but this is a great way to use up chicken. This tasty mixture can be served with tostadas - just add some lettuce, parmesan, and sour cream.

Chicken Recipe

You can also use it for quesadillas, in which case you can fill a tortilla with it, then fold the tortilla in half and garnish with avocado salsa, parmesan, and sour cream. Tinga keeps for up to three days in the refrigerator, so feel free to use it as a sandwich filling, a baked potato filling or even to top canapes or crackers if you fancy a snack.

This is such a simple recipe and Mexicans like using simple flavors such as tomatoes, onion and chicken because the tastes of these fresh ingredients shines through and it is not necessary to use a complicated recipe when a simple one will suffice.

Many easy Mexican recipes are made with less than ten ingredients, which is another reason beginner cooks enjoy making authentic Mexican recipes. Some cuisines are daunting to new cooks because they seem quite complex but traditional Mexican recipes are simple yet tasty.
What you will need for Tinga:
  • 5 onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 3 canned chipotle chilies in adobo sauce
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 chopped tomatoes
  • 2 lbs boneless chicken breast
  • 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon powder
How to make it:
Coarsely chop one onion and cut the rest into rings. Finely dice half the garlic. Fill a pan with salted water and bring it to a boil. Add half the chopped onion and the chopped garlic. Add the chicken and turn the heat to low. Simmer the chicken for half an hour or until it is cooked through, then let it cool and shred it using a pair of forks. Discard the salted water.

Add the oil to a heavy pot over a moderate heat and saute the sliced onions until they are tender. Do not let them brown. Put the tomatoes, the chipotle chilies with some of the adobo sauce, the remaining garlic, onion, salt, and chicken bouillon powder in a blender and puree the mixture until smooth. Add it to the pot with the sauteed onions and simmer for five minutes. Add the chicken to the pot and cook for five minutes more.

Tasty Tinga Variations
You can use turkey instead of the chicken or even chuck roast. If you use chuck roast, it will need to simmer for several hours. Chuck roast takes longer to cook than the chicken. Another way of poaching the chicken is to use a slow cooker. A boneless chicken breast will cook through in about four hours on the crockpot low heat setting.

Some people prefer a spicier flavor when enjoying this dish. If you are one of them, you can use more chipotle chilies than the recipe calls for. Of course, if you prefer a milder flavor you can just use one or two chilies, or even omit them altogether.

Vegan Diet Plan - A How-To Guide On The Vegan Diet Plan

If people live in an ideal world, then everyone would be eating fruits and vegetables the whole time. After all, they are staples in keeping a sound and healthy body, not to mention in weight maintenance or decrease as well. But alas, the allure of meat is a temptation far too tempting to resist. But then, vegetarians have already veggie products that do taste like meat, so going vegetarian is a growing trend. For dieters who recognize the power of vegetables in keeping a person's weight low and body healthy, here are some vegan diet plan tips.

vegan

In preparing a diet plan for a vegan, it must be understood anything related to animal products is avoided. That includes dairy, meat, dairy, and anything animal related. Whatever nutrition that will be missed due to meat and animal by-products can be substituted through other foods that a vegan enjoys - fruits, vegetables soy and grains.

To make it clearer, a vegan avoids the following, and therefore must be off a vegan diet plan:
• The primary no-no, meat that includes red and white meat - pork, chicken, beef, pork and even seafood

• Vegans avoid dairy since it is an animal by-product. Milk can come from cows or goats, which are obviously animals, which is why they are banned. Milk, cheese, butter, and any other products containing them are not allowed.

• Eggs, as they come from fowl such as chicken, turkey, quail, etc. are not allowed. Because they come from chickens, eggs are off limits for vegans, as well as vegetarians.
Two products may catch one's surprise as no-nos for vegans:

• Gelatin products are banned in a vegan diet as horse and animal hoofs are included in men the product's gelatinization process.

• Sweeteners such as white sugar (because sugar refinement includes a process wherein sugar passes through bone marrow) and honey (which comes from bees, although some argue that they are a natural products and no bees are harmed in the process) are not allowed.
Alternatives for these products for a diet plan for vegetarians include:

• Vegi-meat, bean curd, nuts and grains are good sources of protein and approximate the taste of meat.

• Soymilk, soybean or sunflower oil-based margarine and vegan cheeses can be substituted for dairy products.

• Raw brown sugar that does not pass through a bone marrow, as it does not undergo refinement can be the best sweetener options for vegans.

The good thing about these substitutes for a vegan diet plan is that they are actually low in calories as well, so they can pretty much lead to weight loss.

You CAN lose weight, shed pounds EASY and FAST! Weight loss doesn't have to be complicated, boring or even hard.

Colon Cancer! - Causes - Treatment - Prevention

WOW! What an important subject! I could repeat all the standard answers given to us by the allopathic medical community... but you can research this for yourself. And, by no means, am I suggesting that you shouldn't listen to your personal healthcare professional. But I am giving you some ideas that you might want to study and evaluate for yourself.

Colon Cancer

In my opinion, colon cancer (or any type of cancer) is not caused by any "one" thing. It's a result of the world we live in, including environmental toxins that are all around us and eating foods that are void of the nutrition that we must have to be healthy. This article is intended as Colon Cancer Causes Treatment and Prevention information.

The colon is our waste disposal organ. Its job is to eliminate food wastes that our body can't break down, absorb and utilize. This waste is full of bacteria... and when we don't eliminate regularly, the waste is allowed to sit in the colon and can lead to cancer.

Risk factors for colon cancer are age, family history, other colon disorders such as IBS and Chron's Disease. Diets high in fat, animal protein and refined carbohydrates seem to increase risk. You should eat foods high in fiber to help keep things moving along. Digestive enzymes will be a great help in breaking down the foods you eat so your body can utilize the nutrition.

One of the most important things we can do to prevent cancer or any disease is to keep our pH balanced. Have you ever seen a swimming pool that has not been balanced? The water becomes very dark with a lot of bacteria and bugs swimming around. Why? The pH is out of balance. It becomes "sick". Since our bodies are over 70% water, do you think it would be important for us to keep this "water" balanced?

What is pH and how do we keep it balanced?
pH is "potential of hydrogen" by definition. It is the measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. It is measured on a scale of 0-14... with 7 being neutral. Acid will be below 7 and Alkaline will be above 7 on the scale. We keep our bodies in balance by eating foods that are high in alkalinity... and avoid eating acidic foods. Take a look at our acid/alkaline food charts. We can also drink alkaline water, use alkaline drops in our water or drink a green drink every day. There are also supplements that will help us keep our pH in balance.

Enzyme Therapy
Another way to help prevent cancer is to take an enzyme called Protease. Protease simply digests protein. When we take it with meals, it helps digest the protein in our food... but when we take it between meals and in a higher dosage, it digests the protein that coats cancer cells. Breaking down this protective coating will allow your immune system to do its job and get rid of the cancer cells.

Nutritional Supplements
There are many nutritional supplements that will help prevent cancer. Always include whole food multi-vitamin/mineral supplements in your daily diet. Vitamins C & D are especially important. There are herbal formulas that are specific for cancer. Essiac Tea is one of my favorites. Selenium and Vitamin E is also a powerful combination. Red Clover Blossom is wonderful to help cleanse toxins and impurities from the blood. Ginger and turmeric will help stop the growth of cancerous tumors. I encourage you to spend some time studying these wonderful herbs and formulas for yourself.

Oxygen Therapy
Did you know that cancer cells cannot live in the presence of oxygen! One doctor has reported that cancer cells develop with cells are deprived of oxygen. For more oxygen, try deep breathing in fresh air, aerobic exercise or take food grade hydrogen peroxide. You can add hydrogen peroxide to your bath water. Oxygen supplements are also available. Personally, I drink oxygenated water every morning.

If you experience any of these warning signs, please take appropriate action immediately:
  • Changes in bowel movements
  • Dark blood in the stool
  • Long, pencil thin stools
  • Abdominal discomfort or bloating
  • Loss of appetite
  • Weight Loss
  • Pelvic pain

The Best Foods For Weight Loss and Kicking Sugar

If you're not sure how to eat foods for weight loss, you're not alone. Many people don't know how to eat properly or the proper amount of nourishment for their bodies. Seems most want to know how to eat to burn fat and lose weight. The best advice is to educate yourself so you are armed to fight the overweight battle.
Many people wait until their body gives out. Do not be one of them! Be proactive when it comes to your health! Think of it this way: treat your body how you want to be treated in life: with respect and care.

Weight Loss

Once you view things from that perspective, its amazing how differently you will see things. Why not give it a try?

The first thing you should think about is getting away from processed food. Take a look at your freezer and how many prepared items you have; like frozen pizzas, burritos, waffles, or breaded chicken nuggets. Open your cupboards and notice how much food you have that comes in a box. Most of these foods have been processed within an inch of their lives and the processing that they go through tends to strip nutrients out of them.

Eat food that is whole or as close to whole as you can get. Raw veggies and fruit are good. Leave off the sauces, extra butter, and marinades from the food you eat. For example, have a grilled chicken breast without gravy and don't add cream and sugar to the bowl of berries.

When you are looking to eat the best food out there for your diet and weight loss, one thing you can do is eat bright. Small children know this but as adults we have forgotten it. Take a look at your dinner and think about how bright you can make it. Colorful foods like sweet potatoes, beets, and broccoli are packed with great nutritional value and vitamins. As a rule of thumb, the brighter the vegetable, the better it is for you.

Plan ahead. If you have your meals planned out and the ingredients on hand, you're less like to grab fast food or takeout. If you don't know how to prepare a vegetable that you've never tried, go through your cookbooks or get online and find a recipe. That strange vegetable may just become your new favorite friend.
Many people resist planning. For whatever reason. This catchy phrase may help inspire you to do some planning: " If you fail to plan, you plan to fail." That really has an impact, doesn't it?

Eat foods your body likes. When you do, it will shed fat for you. And that becomes a win - win.
