Everyone knows that cardio is an excellent way to burn off body fat. However, not all cardio workouts are created equal. Some are more effective than others and how you perform them is also important. If you want to get the quickest results you need to choose the best cardio routines to lose weight and know how to do them properly. Here are some tips to help you do just that:

1. Before each workout you have to do a warm up. This helps to get your body ready for the workout and reduces risk of injury and muscle cramps. A warm up should be 5--10 minutes of very light cardio.

2. The best cardio workouts to lose weight are those that are naturally intensive and involve most if not all of the body. This is why running, jumping rope, and kickboxing are excellent choices. The elliptical which doesn't stimulate the upper body at all is not an effective workout. Bicycle riding can be effective if done outdoors as your arms are working to support you on the bike. A stationary bike is not really effective at all.
If you have a certain amount of time to dedicate to your workouts, it is much better to focus on the workouts that wil give you the best results for your time. Stick to intensive workouts.

3. Your workouts are not judges by their length of time but by their intensity. Walking for 40 minutes is not better than running for 30. I don't really care how long your workout is as long as it's as intensive as possible. I urge you to push yourself hard when you workout because that's the only way to burn calories and lose weight. Working out just for the sake of being able to say you did is worthless.

4. To really get the kind of results you long for I urge you to do interval workouts. Most people do their workouts at about the same pace throughout. This isn't the most effective way to workout and it won't burn as much fat as you may hope for. Interval training involves changing up the pace every few minutes so that you can challenge the body in a variety of intensities and train it better. Interval training has been shown to be more effective than traditional cardio.
